Safer cell phone

What type of Cell Phone would be safest? I only use my old folding phone for texting. I have corded phones in my home. I have been badly affected by cordless phones and Cell Phone s, but feel that I need a Cell Phone for emergencies when on the road. I know that the more recent the cell phones are, the more harmful they are. I can't find the info on the types less harmful. I would rather keep my old phone rather than get something more harmful.
