Pain from filling my first Cavity

I am 24 years old and I have always taken very good care of my teeth. I have never had a cavity my entire life, until I saw my dentist yesterday. Wow getting a filling is not cool at all.
My tooth has been sore since yesterday. I called my dentist about it yesterday, but they said the pain should go away soon.
It's been about 16 hours.
