Absolutely yes to both questions. When you feel them and they are irritating your skin take a fine woven cotton black cloth that is lint free under a 10 power magnify glass . Wipe your skin and inspect the cloth after each try this May take several attempts and look for red or white fibers , eyelash hair looking pieces of worm or white specs . The white specs I believe are juvenile larvae the white film is bacteria if you see any , the white blue or red spider web looking thread are the molts L3 sometimes you can catch a molt with the larvae at one end of the thread . It will look like a little white football at the end of the thread . If you leave this rag in a safe spot after multiple specs are noticed wait a while and re-inspect rag
and see if any specs look like a an ultra small thread . I consider this rag a biohazard and treat accordingly
