Castor oil pack for ovarian cyst. Please advise.
I recently found out that I have an ovarian cyst. I had intermittent pain over the years, but it was on a recent exam that it was diagnosed. The pain has become more frequent and longer lasting, and I decided to see what I could do before it got to the point where the doctor would suggest surgery. I really don't want surgery, for so many reasons, one of them being that I know this is a sign that I have to correct my diet and lifestyle, not just have something cut out of me and go on.
Okay, so I did some reading, and decided that the first thing I would try would be the castor oil pack. I put castor oil on my face almost every day, and twice in winter, when it's cold. I have also put castor oil packs over my liver in the past, and in both cases, never had any aide effects, although my skin looks fantastic.
I put the pack over the area where the painful cyst is, and within ten or fifteen minutes, I had to go to the bathroom. Urgently. So, of course, I did. The pack was still in place. A little while later, still using the pack, I became quite nauseous, kind of car sick nauseous. A really bad, kind of metallic taste came into my mouth, making me wonder if this was toxins coming out, and I rinsed my mouth with some almond oil pulling. The oil became really too viscous within a minute or two, and I spat it out, and took some more. I still have the metallic taste.
Is this a reaction to the castor oil pack? How long and how often would you suggest I do it? When I get really nauseous, should I stop, or is that a sign to continue?
Any other advice or suggestions regarding ovarian cysts would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
