There is a range of prices for several reasons.

Quality of optics, magnification, operation of the stage, and control of the condenser all play a part. Also, if you get a digital camera with one, that becomes expansive, especially if you want good quality video.

As for analyzing blood, that is a process that requires a strong background in biology and microscopy as it is not possible to do a good analysis by comparing pictures.
