Hypnic Jerks - a quick cure

edit - i just figured out that it is caused by my food sensitivities . Ive been following my diet that the ALCAT test outlined and i dont have the spasming anymore.

So leaky gut plays a role in this. ugh.

original msg :

Hey I just wanted to post that I sometimes have hypnic jerks so bad that I can't fall asleep. My health is in shambles due to candida and sometimes uneducated supplementation.

I read that mineral deficiency can cause hypnic jerking and I think i have that right now (even tho i eat Sea Salt every day) because I was taking molybdenum without any other supplements. And magnesium without calcium.

So my cure is simple...water! TAP water. I want to avoid heavy metals and all the crap in tap water, and I dont drink out of plastic bottles either, so all I ever drink is distilled water from my brita filter. But I think that it filters out the bad stuff AND the good stuff...I also read somewhere (some doctor online that has a website) that distilled water actually pulls minerals from your body and makes you excrete them, which is why distilled is only recommended to during a detox.

But you cant detox all the time. I feel alot better after drinking my tap water. My symptoms didn't go away completely but I got some sleep.

I mean, maybe I'm wrong, maybe its not a good idea to ever drink tap water(im sure it varies depending on location). But maybe it will give some temporary relief to someone so I just wanted to share. I will keep drinking distilled water, with maybe a glass of tap per day.

Another thing that helps me is eating yogurt. I hate dairy because its all GMO, but it helps my hypnic jerks for two reasons - calcium and tryptophan. I read that taking calcium should only be a quick fix for mineral deficiency for various chemical reasons, but it definitely put me to sleep.

so yea just wanted to share that.
btw is the waater that comes out of brita filters technically called "distilled" ? or "purified" I dont know that correct term.
