Should I take precautions with electrolysis due to my sensitive skin?

So I had electrolysis for the first time about 22 days ago for an hour on my chin. My electrologist used thermolysis. I was extremely swollen the day after and it took 2 1/2 days for the swelling to go down completely. However, I am still red in the treated area and it is quite noticeable. I'm not sure if the discoloration is going to go away or not but discoloration for this long period of time after treatment does not seem normal to me. I think my skin reacts to thermolysis very strongly and I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions or explanation for what is happening. My electrologist said we might have to change to the blend method, what are your thoughts about that? And should I continue getting electrolsis or am I just setting my self up for skin damage. Thanks :)
