The MC will get you on the right track!
Weight loss really isn't a bad excuse for doing the MC. If it's one of your goal's then understand that detoxing is just one of the ways to get yourself on the right track.
I started my first 10-day
Master-Cleanse back in August 'cause I'd had it with doctors and the insurance company fighting over which meds were covered in the formulary. My digestive track was shot and I wasn't feeling any better. All the drugs they were giving me to help with the symptoms of my hiatal hernia had just wreaked havoc on me. The
Master-Cleanse was my answer to get my digestive track back into balance. AND it worked! I'm prescription drug free to this day. And my doctor actually supports my efforts.
Note that I'm also about 35 lbs over where my weight should be and that's not a "skinny" weight goal either. My goal certainly isn't to be thin just healthy. I lost about 7 lbs on the first MC. I've been able to keep the 7lbs off AND an additional 3 lbs on top of that. I haven't let myself gain any of it back. I started juicing. I eat lots of fresh veggies and avoid beef, pork and chicken. I eat fish about once a week, eat lots of brown and wild rice, as well as all kinds of beans. I'm still struggling with refined starches like restaurant served hot rolls, bread and pastas and I've also given in to the occassional craving of
Sugar in the form of chocolate or cookies. It hasn't been the perfect road, but certainly much better than before. And it's been enough of a change that I'm still losing weight slowly and without deprivation.
This is my second
Master-Cleanse and I'm going to fast longer. I'm using the MC to help me stay on a healthier diet and to detox further. I know I need it. My body tells me so and my energy levels say so. I hope to lose another 10-12 lbs this round. AND I hope to keep it off by staying on that healthy diet. Hopefully, sans the refined starches and sugar.
The one thing the MC will be sure to do for you is readjust your taste buds and help you better be able to listen to what your body is actually needing. You'll start eating for your body not for comfort or to relieve boredom. If I've been able to get myself on to a healthier diet, you can!
Happy fasting! And sorry for the rambling! HEH! That's what I like the most about this forum. It's okay to ramble. HEH!
