Tonsillectomy pain/infection... what to do?

My 15yo had his tonsils removed on Thursday and the pain is pretty bad and today, Day 3, it has radiated to his ear. What could I use to help it heal quickly?

I have been giving him salt to gargle, and silver, Trace Minerals 30ppm Colloidal Silver , to hold in that area. Today I gave him some Vit C, and I'm leaving soon to get him some beta glucan and astragulus. I also have some Nature's Sunshine Lymph Gland Cleanse but not sure that will work. I tried Bioron Arnicare Gel which didn't seem to help. He's also applied ice, drinking a lot and eating chicken broth.

Any suggestions are welcome.
