Adverse/paradoxical reactions to supplements?

Personally, I would never touch any of the glandular supplements. Some people have good reactions and some like yourself have negative reactions. My view is that if your adrenals are already in overdrive and exhaustion, why would you add glandulars that are further stimulating the adrenals? Me personally, everything was in complete overdrive and I did make huge improvements with diet, but I had to find the right diet for my own body, that turned out to be a diet that provided maximum nourishment, similar to what someone doing intense exercise might eat, although the only actual exercise I do is light yoga. I'm not a fan of supplementing with vitamins and minerals, fruits and veggies have plenty of these, especially fruits because the roots of fruit trees go deep into the earth getting all of the minerals deep in the earth. There are herbs that can be helpful, but again you have to know exactly why you are taking the herb and what it is doing, not just taking something because someone said it helps cure adrenal fatigue.
