Yes, it does. However most sociopaths do not seek nor want help. A sociopath of the narcissist personality disorder type have no idea of the pain and suffering they are causing and they are perfect, it is everybody else that has the "problem".

Beyond GNM, sociopathy can also be epigentic, I have seen sociopathy in families handed down 4 consecutive generations.

If you must deal with a sociopath, well.... its better to cut all ties and never contract them again.
