THANKSGIVING CAROLS

Some think Christmas
carols should not be
played in mid November.
What would Thanksgiving
carols be...?
turkeys screaming
'help me help me!'

GRAVY IN THE GRAVE

Unreported murder...
the evidence hidden....
Turkey's blood and fat
stirred into gravy.
A human stomach
was his grave

WHY?

Why do men cut
off turkeys' feet
before their heads?
Do they not mind
the watching eyes?

STIFFENING

The turkey's screams
they're stifling.
Not when his corpse
is stiffening
but when with rot
it's softening
do they begin
him stuffing.

TURKEYS' BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS

Gravy is the blood of murdered birds
mixed with the sweat of their uric acid
and fright,
with tears of agony stirred in...
along with some of their hacked off fat.

There are countless instances of food poisoning
from Thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys, because
of undercooking or of keeping leftovers too long.

then to the eviscerating room
where the guts are pulled out..
next the heads are pulled off
.. followed by machines
vacuuming out the lungs
.. finally the packaging,
the stapling and
posting the weight stickers
(and then the blood
and urine go into the streams..
along with the female hormones
Antibiotics and in some cases
prions they contain..
while the lungs, guts,
heads, and feet go into
pet food and in some cases
become Mad Cow generating
illegal food for cows, sheep
pigs turkeys chickens fishes)

HE PRAYED FOR THE NAMELESS BIRD SITTING AT HIS TABLE

He sat at a table which had a decapitated gutted
defeathered cadaver of an innocent turkey, and wondered what his or
her name was..from whence he came
whom and what he loved? God bless the soul of the bird.. not only now
but going back in time to his concentration camp life and
his final awful embodied moments..

Is stuffing a corpse's
cavity
a form of unnoticed

For what can turkeys
give thanks? Only that
the world daily has more
vegetarians, vegans
and fruitarians.

slaughters 'butterball' turkeys, bred so topheavy
they cannot stand. Butterball headquartered in Downers' Grove
Illinois. A downer is an animal so sick she cannot stand
as she arrives at the slaughterhouse.
