Re: Enlarged Heart...

I have 14 year old chihuahua who is suffering from enlarged heart. I took him more than a week ago to the vet. Vet gave him Enalapril 2.5 half tab bid, vetmedin 1.25 half a tab bid, furosemide 12.5 half a tab bid for trial. He was talking them for three days then he lost appetite. My dog can eat even though he is only 6.4 lbs. He would not eat that day and I could not give him his meds for that day. Next day he was alert and eating well. I decided to take him off of them. I dont know if I did the right thing. I do not want him on the vetmedin since it causes him to lose his appetite. I just wonder how long more will he live. He was taken to the vet a bad cough. He has had a heart murmur for quite some time and I just want him to live if he is still ok. I do not want him to suffer. He still cough but not as hard as he was doing it like the day I took him to the vet.
so would that be 15mg bid then?
thank you
