Help Please- Wound infected with yellow stuff! How to heal/clean?

Hello,

My mother has a burn wound on her stomach that has
become infected and turned yellow/green.

It has been 10 days since the burn.

I have read about how some doctors and plastic surgeons actually
recommend putting manuka honey on hard-to-heal wounds.

My question is this...
- Do we need to scrape away the yellow stuff BEOFRE putting the honey on, then a bandage?

...Or do we put the honey straight over the yellow stuff
without removing the yellow stuff?


Please note: The yellow stuff does NOT come off by washing and wiping.
It would need to be cut/scraped to get the yellow off.

The red coloured skin (redness) around the wound seems to be
getting slightly thicker/wider.



Does anyone have experience with wounds that are infected?
