supplements without magnesium stearate

The consumer is pushing for supplements without the flow agent magnesium stearate. Very few do, here is one that is going to do it.
GKB says:

Richard, you are absolutely correct. I have been trying for weeks to manufacture Doctor's Best Brain Magnesium without excipients. The excipients are "flow agents" and are only used where the raw material is "sticky" and either clumps or won't flow into a capsule or tablet. This is a real challenge. Our Brain Magnesium uses clinically tested magnesium-L-theonate, brand name Magtein. It is quite difficult to work with. Our customers brought to our attention when we changed formulas and began using magnesium stearate as an excipient. Many of our loyal customers were quite upset and rightfully so. The change had been made without properly informing them. That's on us and we apologize. After trying diligently to make the product without any excipients we turned to ascorbyl palmitate. This is another "excipient" but less offensive than magnesium stearate. We are now in production with the new formula and will be shipping in January. The cost is substantially higher as ascorbyl palmitate costs more and it is slower to run on the machines. We have elected to not pass the increase on to our customers. It is a small gesture but one that is heart felt. Our policy is to avoid using excipients wherever practical. This is a cost benefit decision that we take very seriously. I can tell you that we will not be adding magnesium stearate to any reformulations of existing products. And, we will continue to fully disclose our ingredients on our labels. Thank you Richard, for suggesting the solution to the problem and thank you to our customers for being so vocal and yet, supportive.
