Re: ebola and homeopathic some suggested remedies
I am sure that it was a reference to snake oil. Yes, in limited doses, rattlesnake venom is actually an approved treatment for some illnesses and could actually be beneficial for some others.
For example: it has been shown to be partially effective for Malaria. It breaks down the red blood cells, which contain the developing merozoites, which if released before fully developed are ineffective and killed by the immune system.
I was bitten by a relative, the cottonmouth water moccasin, and yes I survived without anti-venom. It was not fun and it was not easy and I was very lucky to have survived.
The thing that many do not understand about snake oil is that it actually does have benefits. It does not help with everything like it may have been represented to in the past. Nothing does everything.
That is why it is useless to take
Antibiotics for viral illnesses. But the doctors make money at that so that do not call
Antibiotics for viral infections snake oil.
