Re: Newly diagnosed with AF: Pregnenolone, Licorice Root, and ANXIETY
Every person and every case of AFS (adrenal fatigue syndrome) is different. I needed 20+ supplements at some points, but you have to go with what you feel you can handle and stick with.
Bottom line is that I think the doctor has a competent treatment idea and you can basically relax and trust them, unless the advice they give you produces bad results consistently.
Something to note with supplements and AFS: many times there are 'startup effects' that are exaggerated and quickly go away with a week or so of use. Riding through the startup effects is part of healing. Other times, some supplement will give you grief and it means "NO! stop!" The only way to find out is trial and error. I have almost thrown out supplements that turned out to be a lifesaver after giving 'em a "fair trial."
Licorice is very potent. My personal method was to brew a bag of Stash Licorice spice tea...and sip it slowly through the day, as needed. Some days I only needed a couple sips.
I personally did not start licorice until months after pregnenolone. But I was following my own path, not working with a doctor. (A good doctor could've helped me recover quicker.)
Also consider that this may take a while (several months or years). I hope it doesn't but that is typical.
