Re: TSH at 10 after 3 months of Iodine
Why is elevated TSH a bad thing? On the contrary, TSH triggers not only production of thyroxins BUT ALSO NIS symporters to be created, these are in simple terms the receptors that are used in the process of making the thyroid hormones. When your thyroid is damaged from lack of selenium and/or idoine the number of these receptors declines and so does your ability to uptake
Iodine and make thyroid hormones.
The fact that your body is responding my increasing TSH means you are responding to supplementation in a positive way, not a negative one. Have patience! Its been over a year for me know and my TSH is in range but on the high end however im feeling great and have the metabolism I did when I was 20 again (and im in my 40's now).
Your body didnt break down in 3 months, its not going to heal in 3 months either. Outward symptoms can come weeks, months or years after a nutritional shortage is incurred.
