Re: I have candida , so what ?

I feel the same way sometimes.. like I should give up the battle against candida since it sometimes feels like there is no hope for ever curing candida overgrowth. I find that oftentimes when the combination of diet, antifungals, and probiotics doesn't work, there is an underlying issue causing candida to grow out of control. For instance, your immune function could be low (and you don't need to have HIV to allow for the overgrowth to occur). To cure candidiasis, you will have to address the root problem first.

Right now, the candida may seem more like a nuisance than anything, but there is a chance that if you don't control the candida (and address whatever is causing you to be unable to keep the yeast at low levels), you may end up worse than you already are. But you should definitely try to enjoy life, and if the strict diet isn't helping, it is best to go off it. The candida diet doesn't work for everyone, and like the saying goes, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. It's pointless to keep doing things that are clearly not working for you.
