NO!! It is not safe to take just about every herbal and amino supplement out there while on SSRI's!!!!
As for PTSS, what has been most effective for me and is spoken of far too infrequently here is THERAPY!
Most health plans cover therapy but if you wish to not have it a part of your medical record, you must pay for it out of your own pocket.
There are an abundance of therapists and psychiatrists who specialize in PTSS. I strongly recommend finding someone!
Also, I was on Zoloft for a year and weaned myself off back to the nutritional route. I take L-Tryptophan (not 5htp) every night an hour before bed which is one of the pre-cursers to serotonin which is lacking in many of our diets. I supplement this with B Complex (CRUCIAL as the tryptophan will not be metabolized without it) and DAILY CARDIO EXERCISE. I can honestly say that all of the positive effects of Zoloft are felt via this nutritional+exercise route. I also monitor my pH and make sure my body is alkaline as low pH ALWAYS leads to low mood and energy levels for me. I take coral calcium to boost my pH (bob barefoots SUPREME) but also have eliminated all of the acidic crap from my diet which was causing acidosis. such things as coffee, soda pop, sugar, and lack of oxygenation(breathing, exercise) increase acidity and should be abandoned compeltely.
