Lump or polyp on tonsil accompanied by earacje

Hi.

Can anyone offer some advice please. I recently went to see an ENT specialist and he said I either need to have my tonsils removed or have a biopsy on a polyp looking thing that's on one of my tonsils. I am scared and don't want to have either done is there anything I can do like a pultice or something to try and get rid of it my self?
