Detox -- Complete Meal Replacement -- -- Iodine and salt --my Journey to health
Hi All,
My journey to health has been a long one. Let me start off by saying that I have never been really sick other than having a lack of energy and being fatigued. My lifestyle was very stressful with a lot of travel etc. My eating habits were terrible. I ate lots of sugar and caffeine. However, I didn’t have an extreme weight problem because I smoked a pack and a half a day! So, that kept my 6 foot frame down to 190lbs. However, just a little over 2 years ago my best friend almost had a heart attack and had to have a stint put in. This was my wake up call. I quit smoking with the help of a hypnotist. For the first month I thought I was going to die. I have never felt that tired. EVER. I attribute it do a massive detox. After about a month I saw that I put on a few pound and I did not want to gain weight so I started light exercise. I also started to look into various detox agents and nutritional supplements. As far as detox, I did EDTA and coffee liver cleanses. However, on the nutritional side I found a problem. The problem was, as I started doing the math on the various meal replacements etc. a trend was emerging. And that trend was that there was no way in hell I was getting enough of each of things listed on the label. Remember, if it has one chia seed in it… they can list chia as an ingredient. So I started on my quest to create my own Superfood meal replacement. Bear in mind this the first time in history that we can reach out anywhere in the world and get the best of the best superfoods. I sought out items that were not medicines but were nutritious in their own right or possessed qualities that were beneficial if taken all the time. I looked across the spectrum of roots, mushrooms fruits and of course proteins and fats. We live in a calorie rich, nutrient poor environment. My goal was to get the best of the best. It took me over 1 year to refine the list of items and to refine my shake. I take it 3 times a day (Because it’s 8 scoops in total volume; scoop= 3 tbs.). After, one complete year on the refined shake formula, I was in tremendous physical health. At least from an appearance point of view. At, 49 years old and 170lbs, I had abs and great strength (15 pullups and a 100 situps are easy) but I was still kind of tired all the time and my endurance for exercise still seemed limited. That is when I happened on to Dr. Brownstein and started on what I believe was the missing link (Iodine and Salt). I was well aware of the fluoride problem and even have an RO system for that. Which I would suggest that for everyone it cost less then $300 for an under the sink system . However, I didn’t know what do about detoxing fluoride until I was educated by Dr. Brownstein. I have been on iodine for just a little over two weeks and it is amazing. I did have a detox event that lasted a day (really bad headache) but I feel amazing. I also did a salt loading and to my surprise, I did not urinate profusely even after 1.5 tbs. That is when I realized that I really did not have ANY salt in my diet during the day. Yet another deficiency, and hence it was added on my list of items. This has been so helpful to my life that I thought I would share my journey in hopes that it will help others. I truly believe that the body’s natural state is one of health. If we give it what it needs we can achieve states of phenomenal health. Any comments, opinions or additions would be appreciated.
