Need help - gum abscess

Hi,

Several days ago I developed a swollen area of gum, maybe an inch long (beside/under a couple of teeth, not associated with just one), which I believe is abscessed. There isn't very much pain, except when I touch it. I don't have dental insurance, know they would recommend root canals, etc., that I have no way of affording, and I also don't trust their methods.

I have been keeping food away from that side of my mouth, and basically avoiding hard-to-chew foods in general. Aleve at times if the pain gets bad.

I came here to CureZone and have found several suggestions - oil pulling, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, salt water, tea tree oil, clove oil, even urine therapy - and I'm feeling a bit confused. Could someone with personal experience or knowledge help me to know where to go from here? Although the pain isn't terrible right now, I know how bad tooth/mouth pain can be, and want to get this drained/swelling down if I possibly can.

Thanks very much to all in advance.
