lugols is only ten percent iodide. instead of a thousand grams of KI going into a liter, only 100g go in a liter of lugols.

put your Iodide into your bottle. add just enough distilled water to dissolve the KI. this will be less than half the volume of the finished product. add the 50 grams of elemental to this concentration. it will dissolve immediately. then fill to the proper volume and youre done.

if you make the entire volume with Iodide and water and then add the elemental last then the concentration of 10% Iodide will take days to dissolve the elemental. Tweet
