Re: Pinworms, please help!

You're not over reacting at all.. they ARE scary and when my kids had them (youngest 2 are 5 and 8) I violated them in so many ways checking their girl parts and keeping them clean... smearing their butts with diaper cream at night and checking and washing again in the morning. It was easy for us because I was able to track the source of infection to a trip.. so it wasn't something or someone in our immediate environment that risked reinfecting everyone. I think that's one of the biggest hurdles is making sure your parents and close friends are taking proper precautions.. or the reinfection cycle will continue.
If you search the forums you will find ways that people keep them from coming out at night to lay eggs.... like stuffing a cotton ball with diaper cream right inside their butt (they'd poop it out the next day, but don't stick it in too far)
Your girl parts obviously you want to keep clean... when you first wake up in the morning, head right to the bathroom.. go pee and then rinse or wash the whole area and change your undies... i kept everyones undies and wash cloths separate from the rest of the laundry and boiled them before putting in the washer. It took us 3 weeks to get rid of them.
Good luck... and try not to stress. If you're doing meds that have worked before, hopefully you can knock them out again.
