Re: A Call For Discernment...
Hi Rainy, I have my own personal interpretation of the scripture, 'ye are gods'. I'm sure most of you will not agree with this but just sharing my viewpoint. In the creation story it says that man was created in the likeness of God, and personally I believe that each of us has God, the great I AM inside of us. However, as man in the flesh we cannot say I am God or even a god because we are engulfed in sin, man is inherently tainted and ungodly. It is only by God acting inside of us that we can do any good and accept the grace of Christ, therefore we are gods in the sense that God acts inside of us. Vektek, I would be interested to know what you think of my interpretation of this also. I don't think you will agree with me, but what I am saying does go with our other conversation on man can do nothing good, even accepting the grace of Christ. If man can do nothing good on his own, then any good that man does must be from God, therefore God must be performing the actions inside of man, therefore some part of God must be existing inside of man, therefore we are gods (better said would be we have God inside of us), but not God the great I AM, himself.
What do you all think about this?
