Is hypoglycemia a problem on it's own or a symptom of an adrenal problem?

I'm confused about some things. If your adrenal glands are functioning properly, you should not have hypoglycemia correct? Or can hypoglycemia exist independently of weak adrenal glands?

Adaptogens are said to support the adrenals, but most, if not all of them reduce blood sugar, which contribute to hypoglycemic attacks. Isn't that paradoxical?

Hopefully someone here can explain.
