Questions about fissure remedies

Has anyone used Emuoil for an anal fissure. I purchased some and just received it today. It does not sting when I apply it, which is a good thing. Also, has anyone used Neosporin? My fissure is external and was caused by a colonoscopy. The CR doc prescribed Protosol HC 2.5% and it started stinging after 3 weeks of use, so I discontinued it. I'm doing all the soaking and stool softener, etc. that the CR doc recommended. I use Lidocaine before my bowel movements and slather a layer of Vaseline over that and it helps keep me clean. I have so much anxiety about this because I don't want to have surgery. We seem to all be in the same boat...trying to avoid painful surgery. I wish I had never gotten that colonoscopy.
