You specifically said the fordyce spots are likely causing this.

I dont really unterstand your logic. Fordyce spots can be caused by allergic reactions or inflammation, therefore because some people with EC have them they are likely causing the condition?

Unless there is any evidence against it I would think that those spots are just a byproduct, nothing more. I personally had some spots for a while, but I dont think they are there anymore, but my EC very much is.
