Re: Trouble with bromism – any more ways to detox?
Thank you for your reply! I feel reassured just knowing someone's helping me figure out what to do.
I had considered thrush and dismissed it because it doesn't look anything like the pictures, but it's worth a try. However, I'd be leery of using that much iodine. Judging from how quickly I get (good and bad) results after taking the iodine, my body seems to soak up
Iodine like a sponge (not surprisingly). I’m worried I’d absorb a lot of the
Iodine from the mouthwash and get more of a detox than I could handle.
Is there anything else you think it might be, than thrush?
Thank you for the links; I had read those documents but I appreciate being reminded (my brain is not firing on all cylinders right now). I could try the heel dosing technique and see if that went any easier than what I’ve been doing (though I don’t see how I could be taking any less
Iodine than I already am). I suppose I’m one of those “extremely sensitive people” for whom heel dosing is recommended. Is it recommended to take the selenium when you apply the iodine to your skin?
As for “low” dosage starting at 500 mcg, no way. That might send me to the hospital.
I’d be frankly terrified to take a 100 mg dose. Sounds like it would actually be safer than the 500 mcg dose, but I’m having to do daily support for my kidneys and liver just to (try to) manage what I’ve got going through my system now. However, is Trapper saying that your kidneys don’t get “backed up” with the bromide when you take that much iodine?
If I were to do the 100 mg dose it would be best to do just the potassium
Iodide solution, right, not Lugol’s? Could I also use
SSKI for the mouthwash, or might that be ineffective? And if I do the heel dosing, should I be using Lugol’s or
SSKI ?
And…should I even be remotely considering the 100 mg dose? Or is that something for down the road after tiny doses are more manageable?
I have been taking several tablespoons of coconut oil with my Vitamin D every day. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to do anything positive for my digestion.
I just now found a user, ds2, who seems like they might have been in the same boat I'm currently in. I've just started to read their posts, though. If you know of any other users who've been dealing with bromism after asthma drugs (I've tried looking before with no success), would you mind linking me to them?
