Poke root safety

I just dropped in on this forum and I searched the poke root and Uny has written about it, put it in the search box. My reaction is when in doubt don't use it and look for safer alternatives.
More than 10 years ago I started drinking herbal teas and I lost my memory, but never knew what herb was the culprit.
Since then I have been careful what ever
alternatives I try.
