Any advice for a long time sufferer?

I have been suffering with this scalp problem on and off for years. Lately, it seems like nothing will get rid of it. I get what the dermatologist says is scalp folliculitis mostly near my hairline and the top/back of my head. I have a problem touching my scalp when I notice them or trying to pop or get rid of them. No one can really see them unless I show them but they sometimes hurt or itch a little and make me feel gross. I'm a 26 year old woman who really doesn't want to deal with this anymore. It's embarrassing to explain to a hairdresser and it's plain gross. I am on minocycline 50 mg a day but it has not gotten rid of the problem. I've been on it for over 2 months and I still get the bumps. Is there no real cure for this? I've had it go away and come back many times, and I have tried topical and doxycyline 100 mg. Nothing seems to get rid of it permanently. It just doesn't make sense. I hope there is a way to get rid of it without shaving my head. That's just not an option. I also should mention I have very oily skin and am Acne prone.
