A health story

An elderly woman I saw today, approx 80 years of age. She has been wanting to die for a decade. 8-10 years ago we had a conversation about it, as she had been on statins and BP meds for 20 years; her doctor told her she would die if she quit taking them.

So, she did; as she really wanted to die.. only that I came in and said the opposite. If you want to die, take the statins at least:) She didnt listen to me.

The statins, BP medications; was supposed to prevent stroke etc.
She had 6, while on them. None after she quit. Now on anti depressives and sleep meds; it doesnt kill her, but she is not really alive either, if you count the spirit into it.
I am afraid this is not an exeption of the elderly today.

They should be our elders, the wise ones.
