Re: Infertility and Candida

As a result of antibiotic use and elimination of all of the beneficial bacteria within the body, the yeast form of candida will convert to its fungal form and spread throughout the body within about a 2-day period.

Fungal candida is very pro-inflammatory and promotes the development of many conditions, diseases, and imbalances - http://candidaplan.com/blog/568/100-common-candida-symptoms/

Once established through antibiotic use, the fungal form can exist in any environment found within the body. It produces many different types of enzymes that help it to obtain nutrients and regulate the environment and immune responses around it.

It's not an area that is covered in any training during medical college, so most docs aren't familiar with it outside of being a possible problem in people with severe immune system suppression, such as AIDS, cancers, and immunosuppression.

Although science has paid quite a bit of attention to it, modern medicine is still lost when it comes to dealing with it adequately. There have been over 53,000 studies done on candida since the introduction of antibiotics in the 1940s and almost none prior to that time.

I write on the science of candida frequently and you can find out more about it at my blog - http://candidaplan.com/blog/

Let me know if you have any questions.
