At least he knew to say that Jesus was God, even if it was only intellectually understood. There are plenty of christians that don't even know that and only know Him as the Son. Perfectly ok to know Him as the Son of God, but hopefully at some point they grow and learn more. Some do...some don't. It's up to each person to take a big enough interest to continue to have a close relationship.
Blind faith within religion is foolish...because man has his hand in it...but we can trust God (if we truly know who He is) and He will open our blind eyes to take the correct path towards Him. Church is a place to gather...to worship. All we have to do is look around and spiritual wisdom tells us why we are not all united, because man would eventually turn it into one world religion to go hand in hand with one world government. Though we be separate, the Holy Spirit holds back the evil one...however, as the world tries to unite in all ways, One World Wickedness will take over for a while.
There are people saying they don't expect Jesus to return in person and think they are going to personally make this world a type of heaven. I don't expect to make our government perfect...though I strive for it anyway. I don't expect the christian religion to rule the world either, but I choose to live by biblical principles to the best of my understanding.
What I do expect is for Jesus Christ to return one day and He will rule in the manner He wants for His kingdom. Until then we can live our lives as though we are in the world but not of the world. As a believer, eternity starts now, even though the devil has his hand on this world heavily, we do not live for him. We may struggle at times as we learn to make a place for our physical bodies to dwell in the midst of all this...yet we have victory despite it, because as a christian we have Christ. He is our All in All.
