Re: Chelating with amalgams in - anyone?

I was too sick to tolerate Amalgam removal when I had signs of mercury toxicity. I can't handle sulfur compounds, either, so DMSA was out. I had been studying metalloproteins in school and read that the amino acid L-Histidine can chelate mercury. I started taking that and within a few days the constant irritation where my tongue touched my fillings was gone. And even my chemical sensitivities improved dramatically.

I have used it for over 20 years now. The only brand I recommend is Montiff (Tyson is the same). You can buy it online in 600 mg capsules or powder. The only caution is make sure you take a small amount of zinc every day because it will also chelate that. I usually figure 5-10 mg zinc for every 500-600 mg histidine. You will know you're getting depleted if your nose starts getting a bit stuffy.

I never had the Amalgams removed and later mercury testing showed completely negative.
