Hormone advice please .

We are second month ttc. Usually my cycle is about 28 days long.

We miscalculated my ovulation on the first cycle as it was a week longer than normal- 35 days. So to shorten it I started on agnus castus / vitex. Perhaps I was misinformed because I took it during the entire cycle and my period started after 34 days. . The day before I had sharp pains on my lower right side which I thought and hoped was implantation. Usually my periods last at least a week. Today, after 2 days, it's gone and I feel moody. I've been feeling hot and sweaty on and off this past week too. It happens occasionally before my period but not during and after as is happening this time.

I did a pregnancy test (not first wee of the day) and it was negative.

I'll do another test tomorrow, first thing. But if I'm not pregnant I'm guessing I took the vitex wrong and my hormones must be messed up? I know it's a strong herb but I didn't think I'd see it working so soon.
