Re: seeking help with self-mutilation
Hi there,
I was also a self-mutilator for several years. I was able to heal myself and since then I have not had any recurrences.
First, let me say that I think that this affliction is one of the least understood aspects of mental health in my opinion. What scant information allopathic medicine has is dead wrong in my opinion. They seem to think it's pre-suicidal and the whole 'cry for help' thing. There are elements of truth to this, but I don't think that's the whole story.
I believe that this is a disease of blockage, just like depression. I think it is primarily a *physiological* response of the body, rather than an emotional one. ( I am not underplaying emotions at all...they play a big part as well but they manifest physically as well)
When our bodies are blocked and our brain chemicals cannot funciton properly, the body goes into a survival mode where we have to manually release endorphins in order to stop pain. The most effective way to do this is to cut.
So, rather than treating this method with horror and scorn and disgust, know that you are trying to do the best and most effective thing you can to get out of pain given the resources at hand. Your body is asking you to do this for a reason. It helps. It feels better. Your body needs those chemicals.
It is a supreme irony that we have to hurt ourselves in order to lessen pain.
That said, what worked for me was to do a
Bowel Cleanse regimen. 90 percent of serotonin is produced in the intestinal tract. Cleanse that and you open up the avenues for better flow of important chemicals that will restore balance, health, and sanity.
I did a
Bowel Cleanse just thinking it would help my health and was shocked to discover that mot only did I feel healthier, but my
Depression lifted completely and all of my urges to cut went away. That was three years ago.
I used the
Dr. Schulze Intestinal Formulae and his Superfood (nutrition is also important to the cleansing) and after doing the
Bowel Cleanse I also began
Liver Flushing and haven't looked back since.
Blessings to you and I hope this helps and I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have and I thank you for raising this subject as now we have a specific forum to address this.
Blessings,
Ali
