Sympathetic Block WITHOUT steroids?

Hi there... have causalgia and RSD/CRPS in foot and ankle. just had hernia repair and ligament repair of groin 3 weeks ago (8th pelvic surgery!!) now with allodynia on thigh and pelvis.. so I'm having another lumbar sympathetic block to calm things down.. I've see two different pain docs for consults this time. (I did the initial six sympathetic blocks 3 years ago with initial diagnosis) one pain doc said "you don't need the steroids to block this, just the lidocain or marcain or whatever it is they use." Another pain doc said "oh, no... we ALWAYS use steroids in the sympathetic blocks"... my question: Anyone ever had a lumbar sympathetic block WITHOUT the steroid? I get systemic candida really easily so I try to avoid steroids as much as possible... any repsonses appreciated!!
