Very nice couple we see quite often. They asked me to sell some playground equipment for them because they were renting out a home they moved away from and this expensive backyard set needed to be sold. Everybody in town knows I buy and sell with the best of them, have the reputation for such, so they immediately asked my help. I obliged, found a buyer, cash in hand, bada bing sold it. As all good salesmen do, I put on my charge, my take for selling the set...an extra $200 on top of the $500 for them. They had told me that all they wanted out of it was $500...so that's what I handed over. THEN they did the nice thing, which I wasn't expecting, and handed me a $100 bill for doing the favor. So I made $300 on the deal, nice score. Should I feel guilty? Can see both ways...my wife said I should've taken the $100...we're still friends and all.
