Advice on supplementing Iodine..

Alright...so my mom wants to start taking Iodine. I am slightly uncomfortable telling her a dosage because of her health. She has a had a drinking problem for the last 30➕ years but it has gotten better in the last year. She is diagnosed hypothyroid but in the last few months quit refilling her prescription the doctor gave for hypothyroid. I printed off the Iodine protocol handout she is committed to getting healthier. She does take supplements for liver support but am sure she has a congested liver. What would be an appropriate dosage for her. Also would she be better with Lugols, SSKI , or 2% SSKI ?
