My sympathies for you and your family. It is the hardest thing to face. Oh! I feel for you. We are facing the same thing but do not know how long my dog has. She has lymph node cancer and it may spread. We caught it early so I am trying Turmeric and Lugol's Iodine which have helped many dogs.

Time will heal my friend. We are making an album in my dogs memory. At least we are planning, god knows if she will fight it and be better.
