no nuts, seeds, or whole grains

Hi all, after 6 years of trial and error, I have discovered that the red on my face is related to my diet. And, I've narrowed down what makes it flare up:

Any nut, seed, or grain with a shell-like coating on it. It's the coating, or shell, that is the problem.

So, I eat no nuts at all, no seeds at all, especially oils made from nuts or seeds. This means no canola oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, etc. The oils I tolerate are butter, olive oil, coconut oil, lard, palm oil, soy bean oil, and sometimes corn oil. (I suspect corn oil is sometimes cut with canola oil.)

I also don't eat any type of whole grain products, which is a major bummer. I joke that I'm on the junk food diet, because I eat white bread and white pasta. They don't make me react at all.

Actually, I can't eat much processed food at all, because almost all of it has some type of oil that causes a flare. Eating out is also difficult., especially Korean food because it's all bathed in sesame oil.

Lately I've been finding crackers at the Chinese grocery store; they have palm or soy bean oil in them, which is fine for me

If I avoid all those "things with shells" foods, my face is OK. Any slip-up and after about 6 hours I have at least 6 days of unsightly red flakiness on my face.

The hardest problem for me is probably sesame oil. God, how I love it. And, God, how bad it makes my face. It takes weeks to recover from.

I suspect that everyone with food-sensitive seborreic dermatitis has different triggers. It took me a *long* time to find mine!
