It sounds like you might have helicobacter pylori which is converting urea to ammonia to neutralize the acid. It's an expensive business trying to counter such things using betaine HCL. I was taking 12 caps before I got a slight burning sensation. I then purchased some malic acid, xylitol and clove essential oil and mixed them in water and drank it with my meals. I now take 4 betaine HCL! I have HP and I am about to start trying to iradicate it.
