Beat with baseball bats want someone to hear my story
Several months ago I was the victim of a violent crime, and so far nothing has been done about it....this is a terrible feeling, and among other things, it makes me both sad and very angry. I guess I just want to get my story out there, the way things are going with the police and legal system right now makes me feel like what happened to me doesn't matter....like I don't matter. So anyways, here it is....
On August 29, 2013 I was attacked by several of my neighbors who live directly across the street from me. After yelling a lot of hateful racial remarks to my children, my fiance and myself, they then jumped me and beat me with baseball bats. I was attacked in the street in front of my home by them with bats, and then dragged by them onto their driveway and put up against the truck parked there where they continued to beat me with the baseball bats and kick me. I was repeatedly beaten in the head, back, arm, side, and leg -all along the back and right side of my body-with the bats. My fiance, who had also been attacked and held down while I was being beaten was finally able to get free and come to me. When he came to me they took off up to their house and he carried me to safety. During the attack my oldest son called 911, and after speaking to them they called back. After the attack was over I called 911 as well. Police and an ambulance finally arrived and eventually I was transported to the hospital where I was kept overnight and had to have my head stapled. By the time the ambulance and police arrived my the right side of my body was already turning black from the bruising, and of course I was covered in blood....I looked like something from a horror movie.....blood was literally dripping from my hair. I was lucky that the only broken bone I sustained was to one of my fingers that had been smashed by the bat. The most horrible thing about this is that I have 5 children under the age of 14 who witnessed this. I found out at the hospital that not one arrest had been made. I was beaten so badly that the ER doctor took it upon himself to personally call the police and explain to them how badly I had been beaten and tell them that something needed to be done about the people who had done this to me. I have been diagnosed with PTSD, and I am just now finding out that I have nerve damge from this that will apparently cause me problems for the rest of my life. Four months later still nothing has been done, and I am still suffering from a lot of pain, both emotional and physical. My children and fiance are all still suffering emotionally, and though I try my hardest to help them through it, it's very hard to do when I myself am suffering so much every day. Is there anybody out there who has any advice?
