Does anyone know how to actually treat and cure the root cause of hypoglycemia
I've had hypoglycemia for most of my life but my life changed three years ago when I changed my diet.
I started eating meals every 2.5 hours that contained about 20g of protein (usually fish, chicken, or a vegan protein powder) plus complex carbs (usually yams, squash, pumpkin... sometimes brown rice or steel cut oats) plus a decent amount of fiberous vegetables with some healthy fat. All these foods combined slow down my digestion and uptake of sugars.
Eating like this has been working for me excellently.
As long as I eat this way, I am 100% free of symptoms of hypoglycemia.
PROBLEM: the diet works but it only treats the symptom, not the root cause. And three years later I'm tired of this diet. And my liver needs a cleanse; my body just doesn't want to eat protein 5 times a day anymore, hard on my liver. I want to cleanse on fresh fruit, veggie soups, and green juices, but these things give me hypoglycemic symptoms.
I know that some root causes are adrenal fatigue (I do not believe I have this, I have lots of energy) and / or chromium deficiency (I may have this but I do consume chromium rich foods regularly, but maybe I'm not absorbing them properly).
I also know allergies can cause hypoglycemic reactions, but even if I'm avoiding the foods I am sensitive to, I still have to follow a hypoglycemic diet.
Any ideas for root causes of hypoglycemia (other that adrenal fatigue) and how to treat this?
Also; I have candida,
food intolerances / leaky gut, and daily hives.
