Wife diagnosed w stage 3a melanoma
Hey everyone,
My name is Brad. My wife was diagnosed with stage 3a melanoma last Friday. The entire history is as follows:
There was a mole on her back that would rub again clothes and bother her. She went to the dermatologist, they removed it, send it off for testing & it came back positive for melanoma. Since the mole was 1.5 mm in thickness, they recommended a sentinel node biopsy. They did this, and the sentinel node came back with microscopic traces of melanoma, which means a stage 3a diagnosis.
She is scheduled for a second surgery in a week to remove the other lymph nodes in that general area, in case they have melanoma as well, & to test to see if they do.
For the last week I've done nothing but research online. I, myself, have been a vegan for 4 years, so I've always been into natural diets & health, in general. My wife, however, isn't as much of a fan of it. I've found the CancerTutor site & have looked at using lots of the items in the "Dirt Cheap Protocol" as they call it on their site. (MSM/Liph, Protandim, The baking soda stuff, Cellfood/Real Salt supplements, some type of liver/digestive cleanse) I've also found this website & have read the compilation post of Butch's success story, too.
I totally believe that getting my wife on at least an 80% raw vegan diet full of veggies with few fruits & possibly a small amount of grains like quinoa is absolutely the way to go. Along with some of the other treatments I'd found on cancertutor.com. She just isn't convinced of such & wants to wait until after this next surgery to see how things go there first.
I guess my questions are: Is there any one out there that's been in this same position before & won the fight? I'd love to just talk to people who've successfully done this before & maybe have my wife speak with them after this surgery to help get her on board. Any advice is more than appreciated.
Also, is there any one on here that could help us find a local "natural" doctor for this? (For lack of a better word) If someone was willing to help, I'd be more than happy to send our location. I think working with someone who could track progress and help us with questions we can't answer would be great.
Thanks in advance & I'm looking forward to being a part of the community.
