Candida overgrowth is a symptom of a weakened immune system

I think people who have a candida overgrowth and are mainly trying to starve or kill it off are, at best, only treating half their problem (that's if they even have a candida problem in the first place).

First off, I showed that it's a myth that candida can get so bad that it can routinely become chronic/systemic and cause over a hundred symptoms, but that what people are really suffering from are the effects of malnutrition:

Chronic Candida claims are bunk, it's a misdiagnosis of Malnutrition

Malnutrition can impair one's immune system and the Science shows that an impaired immune system is a risk factor to simple candida infections:

mayoclinic.com:
Oral thrush - Risk factors: Having a compromised immune system
Yeast infection (vaginal) - Risk factors: Impaired immune system

I've been saying and keep saying that a major cause of people's problems around here is calorie-restriction and prolonged under-eating will lead to malnutrition which in turn impairs your immune system and then leaves you more susceptible to all sorts of infections, like candida overgrowths:

nursingtimes.net: Who is affected by malnutrition?
- people with chronic (long-term) disorders - for example, eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia,
Typical adverse effects of malnutrition include: slower immune response which increases the risk of getting infections, and increases the length of time that it takes to recover from infection

webmd.com: About half of all anorexics have low white-blood-cell counts, and about a third are anemic. Both conditions can lower the immune system's resistance to disease, leaving a person vulnerable to infections.

Wikipedia: A weakened or undeveloped immune system or metabolic illnesses such as diabetes are significant predisposing factors of candidiasis. Diseases or conditions linked to candidiasis include HIV/AIDS, mononucleosis, cancer treatments, steroids, stress, and nutrient deficiency.

So if you do have a candida overgrowth, it's not what is causing all your problems. It's just more of a symptom of a bigger problem; most likely malnutrition due to prolonged under-eating.

People blame overuse of Antibiotics , but the reason someone needs Antibiotics so often is because their immune systems were obviously already weak and that was leaving them more susceptible to infections and then needing to use Antibiotics more often.

Therefore if you have a candida infection, instead of going on strict "anti-candida" diets that seem to make most people worse, or using questionable and expensive herbal concoctions or potentially dangerous pharmaceutical drugs to try to starve or kill-off the candida overgrowth, it would be wise to do things to first strengthen your immune system, like making sure you're not under-eating which will eventually weaken your immune system and cause your candida overgrowth in the first place.
