Doexpin is hell to withdraw from, contributed massively to my late stage AF. Might seem like a crutch at the time, but it will, like many other pharma sleep meds, send you down a dark path. Look up Dox or Sinnequin withdrawals.

btw, if adrenaline and anxiety is waking you at 4am, lowering cortisol is actually the opposite of what you want to do - low cortisol = increased adrenaline...and it is probably blood Sugar related due to low cortisol not being abnle to keep it balanced through your sleep
