Re: GTT results - I am fasting for sure
Hello Archus,
I'm assuming the measurement has been taken in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) rather than millimoles per liter (mmol/L)?
If that is the case, and although I am not an expert in readings of GT Tests, a normal fasting blood glucose level should be lower than 95 mg/dL (5.3 mmol/L) (which yours is).
One hour after drinking the glucose solution, a normal blood glucose level is lower than 180 mg/dL (10 mmol/L) (which it is).
Two hours after drinking the glucose solution, a normal blood glucose level is lower than 155 mg/dL (8.6 mmol/L) (which it also is).
Three hours after drinking the glucose solution, a normal blood glucose level should be lower than 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L) (again which it is).
A Diabetics glucose level will remain high while a non-diabetic’s will fall rapidly as insulin acts on the glucose in their blood, readings of which should also fall, as yours have.
